Inventory of Potential Brownfield Sites

Please note that RPC does not maintain a list of potential Brownfield sites in our region. Instead,
we encourage you to work with a commercial real estate agent to find a property that meets the needs of your
proposed redevelopment project and then contact RPC if the site is in need of environmental assessment.  

How to Enroll a Site

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the RPC’s Brownfield Redevelopment Program to determine if a site
is eligible for Brownfield assistance and what assistance is currently available:
brownfields@norpc.org. Prospective
applicants may also wish to complete RPC’s Brownfield
Project Proposal Form in order to provide site information
and facilitate the review process. To submit the Project Proposal form to RPC:

    indicated to: brownfields@norpc.org; or

    - Print the completed form and mail the form along with a site map with the site boundaries clearing
    indicated to the address above.

For Consultants:

RPC posts Requests for Qualifications in the Times-Picayune newspaper and the Daily Journal of Commerce and on
RPC's website at least 10 working days prior to the next Commission meeting (generally held on the second
Tuesday of every month). RPC also maintains a database of firms specifically interested in Brownfield projects. If
your firm would like to be included on this list, please e mail the following information to
and note that your are requesting to be added to our Brownfield RFQ list:

Qualified firms for Phase I ESAs will have the required experience and qualifications to meet EPA’s All Appropriate
Inquiries standard, including meeting EPA’s definition of a Qualified Environmental Professional, and be familiar with
the most current ASTM standard for Phase Is (ASTM E1527).  Firms applying for a Phase II ESA will be familiar with
EPA's requirements for Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), will have a Quality Assurance Officer on staff that
has attended EPA’s QA training, and will note the name of their Quality Assurance Officer in responding to the RFQ.
Other conditions will be outlined in the scope of work.
